China Pharma shares surge 762% as trading outpaces increased outstanding shares

NEW YORK, July 21, 2026, 15:16 EDT

  • At 15:16 EDT, NYSE American continued operating during its main session. Its planned closing time was 16:00 EDT.
  • CPHI shares last traded at $7.84 as of 15:01 EDT, marking a rise of 761.5%.
  • Trading volume totaled 72.6 million shares, representing 1.79 times the share count for May.

Shares of China Pharma Holdings (NYSEAMERICAN:CPHI) surged 762% to $7.84 on Tuesday afternoon. The stock previously reached $18.64, marking a 1,948% increase compared to its Monday close.

Turnover delivered a more pronounced investor indicator. Trading volume was 72.6 million shares, compared with 40.52 million shares outstanding. Official halt records showed at least 21 volatility pauses by 2:44 p.m. Eastern time.

Major indexes were largely unchanged in the session. The divergence suggests that trading was concentrated in individual stocks instead of reflecting a change in how the sector is valued.

Initial journalist projections rely on the May 11 share tally and revenue for fiscal 2025.

The implied equity value rose to $755.3 million at its session peak, matching around 182 times China Pharma’s estimated 2025 revenue.

China Pharma previously responded to irregular market activity last week. On July 15, it disclosed that NYSE American had reached out to its management, referencing trading on July 10, July 13 and July 15.

The company stated it was “not aware of any material nonpublic information or business developments.” The announcement did not cite any business events that would explain the prior price fluctuations. PR Newswire

The most recent operational figures showed a significant reversal. Revenue for the first quarter declined 13% year-on-year to $983,536. The net loss for the quarter increased by 46%, reaching $1.14 million.

Gross margin rose to 29%, up from negative 12%. According to management, the improvement was largely due to machinery that is now fully depreciated, not to increased demand for products.

The first quarter saw significant shifts in the balance sheet. China Pharma increased its outstanding shares by 161% compared to its total at year-end December after issuing 25 million new shares linked to two patent transfers.

This results in significant investor dislocation. Trading volume on Tuesday surpassed the share count disclosed after the deal in May. The volume was approximately 4.7 times greater than the reduced share base at year-end.

Intangible assets totaled $38.67 million, surpassing stated equity of $37.02 million. Deducting these intangibles, reporter-calculated tangible equity stands at negative $1.65 million.

The product mix provided a more stable operating position. Sales in the cardiovascular and cerebral category increased by 50% on the year, reaching $510,000. Sales of anti-infective and respiratory products declined 43% to $410,000.

At publication time, trading on the NYSE American core session was ongoing. Both price and volume may fluctuate significantly ahead of the 4 p.m. closing bell.

Risks: Multiple trading suspensions make the shares vulnerable to sudden swings. In March, China Pharma reported $168,474 in cash and a working-capital deficit of $5.3 million. The company flagged doubts about its ability to continue as a going concern and noted it may seek debt or equity funding.
