Barclays closed at about 398.5p in London on 24 November, up 1.5% after confirming the cancellation of 4.08 million shares as part of its ongoing £1bn buyback. The bank’s stock has climbed nearly 50% in the past year and now trades close to its tangible net asset value. Market capitalization stands near £56 billion. Barclays has repurchased roughly 255 million shares since July.
