Chemring share price slips as Trump tariff threat jars London — what CHG investors watch next

Chemring shares slipped 0.2% to 545 pence in mid-session trading Monday, underperforming as London equities fell after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened new tariffs on Britain and seven other European countries. The FTSE 100 lost 0.6%, while the UK aerospace and defence sector edged up 0.4%. Chemring traded about 672,000 shares. Investors await the Feb. 1 tariff start and Chemring’s annual meeting on Feb. 20.

Banco Santander shares closed up 1.85% at €10.66 in Madrid Friday after launching a €5.03 billion buyback and agreeing to acquire U.S. lender Webster Financial for $12.2 billion. Santander said its board will review the 2025 cash dividend proposal on Feb. 24. The bank also raised its UK motor finance redress provision to £461 million amid regulatory uncertainty.
