The Philippine Stock Exchange Index rose 2.26% for the week but slipped 0.21% Friday to 6,611.24, with foreigners net buying 5.07 billion pesos. January’s trade deficit narrowed 17.8% year-on-year to $4.05 billion as exports climbed and imports dropped. BDO Unibank posted a record 2025 net income, but its shares fell 0.87%. The central bank expects February inflation at 2.3% to 3.1%.
