Doha, Feb 22, 2026, 10:58 — Regular session Qatar’s stock market edged lower Sunday, with investors reacting to headlines about an upcoming index review and a new corporate deal on the radar ahead of a week filled with possible benchmark changes. By mid-morning, the QE Index had dropped 0.4% to 11,182. QLM and Al Meera each climbed roughly 3%, but Qatar Oman Investment and QNB landed among the session’s steepest fallers.

  • Tech stocks push indexes higher after US-Iran tensions ease

U.S. stock indexes jumped Monday as tech and chip names like KLA Corp (+11%) and Western Digital (+10%) rallied, sending the S&P 500 up 1.18%, the Dow up 0.59%, and Nasdaq 100 ahead 2.25%. Gains came after the U.S. and Iran agreed to de-escalate and restart peace talks, cooling off risk in the Strait of Hormuz. WTI crude oil rose more than 2% early on renewed geopolitical fears, then trimmed gains once the ceasefire was announced. Treasury yields ticked up alongside inflation expectations on costlier oil. European and Asian equities also ended in the green. Markets are pricing in about a 32% chance the Fed goes for a 25 bp hike at the July meeting. Economic confidence and money growth picked up in the eurozone.
