Morgan Stanley called this launch potentially the “most consequential” since iPhone X. Its supply-chain checks indicated a $200 Pro-model increase and confidence in demand report on the September 2 note.

That increase would put Pro Max at $1,399, up 16.7%. The current iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199 Apple pricing.

Reported display savings offer only a partial cushion. A 20% cut to $66.50 implies $16.63 saved per panel, or roughly $782 million across 47 million forecast panels supply-chain estimates.

The pricing lever is much larger. A $200 increase across that same panel count equals $9.4 billion in gross revenue before demand, mix and channel effects.

Apple’s latest results provide a strong base. June-quarter iPhone revenue rose 22% to $54.25 billion, while total sales climbed 16% to $109.42 billion SEC filing.

Chief Executive Tim Cook called it “our strongest June quarter ever.” Company gross margin was 50.1%, including about two percentage points from tariff refunds Apple results.

Valuation leaves little room for a weak launch. Apple traded at 32.36 times forward earnings and carried a $4.75 trillion market value as of August 31 Yahoo Finance.

Risks: Apple has not verified the iPhone 18 Pro Max, its price or panel orders. Higher prices could reduce unit demand, while memory inflation could absorb display savings.

The next confirmed catalyst arrives September 9. Investors will watch price, storage tiers and preorder timing for evidence that Pro demand can sustain Apple’s premium multiple.
