ASX:COOT TRIPLES AS TRADE WAR TALK IGNITES AGRI STOCK RALLY

Australian Oilseeds (COOT) stock soared over 300% from $0.97 to about $4.00 in early trading Oct. 15, following U.S. President Trump’s threat to cut cooking oil imports from China. Trading volume spiked from 170,000 to 85 million shares. The rally spread to peers Origin Agritech and Arcadia Biosciences, which also posted large after-hours gains. COOT recently regained Nasdaq compliance and expanded its China market presence.

The firm manages about $12.3 billion in digital asset platform assets and launched retail fintech GalaxyOne offering high-yield and crypto trading. Despite a Q4 net loss of $241 million, Novogratz expressed confidence in the structural demand for compute and Galaxy's long-term prospects in the digital economy.

Brent crude rebounded 3% Thursday despite a U.S.-Iran ceasefire, with the Strait of Hormuz still nearly shut and only one oil-products tanker passing in 24 hours. U.S. gasoline averaged $4.166 a gallon on April 9, and AAA said prices could drop slowly. North Sea Forties crude hit a record $146.43 a barrel. The U.S. EIA expects Hormuz flows may take months to recover.
