Turkey’s Digital Divide: Inside the State of Internet Access and Satellite Connectivity in 2025
Turkey’s fiber backbone expanded from 425,000 km in 2020 to over 605,000 km by 2024. Fiber broadband subscribers reached 8.1 million, making up 39.4% of fixed broadband lines. The 4.5G network covered the nation with over 87 million users by 2024, while commercial 5G is set for launch after a spectrum tender in August 2025. Turkcell led mobile market share in Q1 2024 with 40.2% of subscribers.
