U.S.-listed spot XRP exchange-traded funds have attracted more than $1 billion of net inflows since launching in November, with no day of net outflows so far, SoSoValue data show. XRP was trading around $1.88 at the time of reporting, about 49% below its July record of $3.65, and Acheron Trading quantitative trader Jonathan Yark said: “We’re in a genuine adoption phase for crypto ETFs.” DL News

Sberbank’s first crypto-backed loan to a bitcoin miner lands as Russia tightens trading rules

Sberbank, Russia’s largest bank, said it has issued the country’s first crypto-backed loan to Intelion Data, one of Russia’s biggest bitcoin miners, using digital currency mined by the firm as collateral. Sberbank did not disclose the loan size or the amount of cryptocurrency pledged, and said it will hold the collateral in its own wallets until the loan is repaid. “The regulation of the digital currency market is still in its infancy in Russia,” said Anatoly Popov, Sberbank’s deputy chair. Shares of Bitmine Immersion Technologies last traded at $28.54, up 0.8% from the previous close, after swinging between $27.80 and $29.60 in Monday’s session. The company said its crypto, cash and other investments totaled $13.2 billion as of Dec. 28, including 4,110,525 ether — the token of the Ethereum blockchain — at $2,948 each, 192 bitcoin, $1.0 billion in cash, a $23 million stake in Eightco Holdings and 408,627 staked ether. “Year-end tax-loss related selling is pushing down crypto and crypto equity prices,” Chairman Thomas “Tom” Lee said, noting Bitmine added 44,463 ether in the past week. An 82-year-old and 84-year-old Nebraska couple were scammed out of $250,000 after imposters posing as Amazon and the FBI pushed them to pay through bitcoin ATMs, Western Union transfers and Apple cards, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said. Robinhood (HOOD) slips after-hours as Needham trims target, flags weak crypto volumes

Robinhood Markets, Inc. shares fell 0.6% to $117.43 in after-hours trading on Monday, outside the regular 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. session, after Needham cut its price target to $135 from $145 while reiterating a buy rating. The brokerage trimmed estimates across the crypto-asset sector, saying it expects continued weakness in crypto trading volumes for the next couple of quarters and that retail activity often stays muted until momentum returns.
