Hang Seng Bank’s independent board committee has recommended minority shareholders accept HSBC’s HK$155-per-share take-private offer, calling it “fair and reasonable.” HSBC seeks to acquire the remaining 36.5% of Hang Seng and delist the bank. Shareholder and court votes are scheduled for January 2026. HSBC shares traded at 1,111.80p in London, 115.80 HKD in Hong Kong, and $74.99 in New York on December 15.
