    February 6, 2026, 10:36 AM EST. Lean hog futures edged 20 to 35 cents higher on Thursday, with August contract slipping 27 cents. The USDA's national base hog price fell by $1.36 to $113.61. Meanwhile, the CME Lean Hog Index rose 64 cents to $109.23 on July 22. Export sales dropped to 17,003 MT in the week ending July 17; Mexico remained the top buyer with 7,200 MT. Shipments improved slightly to 27,573 MT, including 11,800 MT sent to Mexico. USDA reported a 30-cent increase in pork cutout value to $117.54 per hundredweight, with gains in butt, picnic, and ham cuts. Hog slaughter was estimated at 475,000 head on Thursday, totaling 1.871 million for the week, up 1,000 head from last week but down over 23,000 from last year.
