Liberty Global stock price jolts as rarely traded LBTYB jumps; LBTYA ticks up into earnings

Liberty Global’s Class B shares (LBTYB) surged 86% Friday, peaking at $51.24 before closing at $22.40 on heavy volume, with no new filings or news. Class A and C shares both rose 1.4% to $11.42. The company will report full-year results on February 18. Liberty Global and Telefonica are also preparing a £2 billion bid for UK broadband provider Netomnia, according to the Financial Times.
