Modine stock jumps after $1 billion Gentherm deal accelerates pivot to data-center cooling

Modine shares rose 5.8% to $187.00 Friday after announcing it will spin off its Performance Technologies unit and merge it with Gentherm in a $1 billion tax-free deal. Modine shareholders will receive about 21 million Gentherm shares valued near $790 million and a $210 million cash payout. The deal requires Gentherm shareholder and regulatory approval. Modine’s quarterly results are due Feb. 4 after market close.
