SLV closed Friday up 3.83% at $72.38 as spot silver neared $80 an ounce, capping a week where silver gained nearly 9.7%. Volume in SLV hit about 90.65 million shares. Silver miners outperformed the metal, with Hecla Mining rising 6.8%. Traders await U.S. CPI data Jan. 13 and index rebalancing flows that could see $6.1 billion in silver sold.
