Ambev Stock Falls as Brazil Freight Crackdown Revives Cost Risk
Ambev’s U.S. shares fell 0.9% after Brazil’s government fined the brewer for violating minimum freight-price rules and warned repeat offenders could lose freight hiring rights. The Ministry of Transport reported 419 million reais in fines over four months and a sharp rise in monthly citations. Ambev’s Q4 organic volume dropped 3.6%, and the company expects Brazil beer production costs to rise up to 7.5% in 2026.
