Air Canada orders 8 Airbus A350-1000 jets, with option for 8 more as long-haul fleet shifts

Air Canada ordered eight Airbus A350-1000 jets and secured purchase rights for eight more, with deliveries starting in the second half of 2030. Airbus said the order was initially listed as “undisclosed” in November 2025. The agreement could reach about $3 billion if all options are exercised. Air Canada expects the new aircraft to cut fuel use by up to 25% compared to older jets.
