Consumers Energy’s $5 million bill-relief push hits Michigan as its foundation backs Fresh Start Kits for rehousing
Consumers Energy is allocating $5 million to Michigan nonprofits to help residents pay energy bills as winter costs rise. The Consumers Energy Foundation separately awarded $100,000 to EightCAP for “Fresh Start Kits” to support people leaving homelessness in four counties. The utility said the aid will not come from customer bills. EightCAP has distributed 81 kits since November.
