ServiceNow shares jumped 9% Friday morning after announcing a partnership with Wipro, which will integrate its intelligence suite with the ServiceNow AI Platform. The stock reached $120 intraday before settling near $119. Wipro’s India-listed shares rose up to 4%, while its U.S. ADRs surged 19%. ServiceNow reported first-quarter subscription revenue of $3.67 billion, up 22% from a year earlier.

India stock market today: Nifty, Sensex tumble over 1% as IT rout deepens on AI fears

The Nifty 50 fell 1.1% and the Sensex dropped over 1,000 points Tuesday, led by a 4.7% plunge in IT stocks to a 30-month low. Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HCLTech, and Wipro lost up to 6.1% amid AI disruption fears and a Jefferies downgrade. Market capitalization dropped by 3.5 trillion rupees. Textile exporters also declined after export incentive cuts.

Indian markets declined early Monday due to renewed geopolitical tensions between the US and Iran, with the 30-share BSE Sensex falling 246.54 points to 76,853.93 and the 50-share NSE Nifty dropping 50.55 points to 24,005.45. Investors turned cautious after fresh military exchanges, despite reports of a halt in further attacks. Major laggards included Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Reliance Industries, while Asian Paints and Tech Mahindra gained. Brent crude oil rose 0.72% to $72.51 per barrel. The geopolitical uncertainty affected not only Indian indices but also South Korea's Kospi and Japan's Nikkei, while Chinese and Hong Kong markets traded higher. Foreign institutional investors purchased Rs 383.76 crore worth of equities on Thursday, before the market was closed Friday for Muharram.
