  • Lean Hog Futures Mixed as Pork Exports Slide, Cutout Gains
    July 9, 2026, 3:28 PM EDT. Lean hog futures moved in a narrow range Thursday, from $1.20 down to 30 cents up. USDA said the national base hog price climbed 6 cents to $96.95. CME Lean Hog Index added 32 cents to $91.98 as of July 7. Pork exports for the week dropped to a three-week low at 17,718 metric tons for 2026 deliveries. Shipments also slipped to a three-week low, at 30,183 MT. The USDA pork carcass cutout gained 74 cents to $98.16, but loin and rib values eased. Federal hog slaughter reached 483,000 head Wednesday, putting the weekly total above last year. July and August futures lost a bit, but October was a touch higher.
