LAMMA 2026 opens with New Holland’s UK debut, JCB’s Fastrac 6000 — and a stark farm safety display

Birmingham, England, Jan 14, 2026, 08:24 GMT

  • New Holland, Deutz-Fahr, Fendt and JCB launched high-horsepower tractors as the highlight of LAMMA 2026’s opening day in Birmingham
  • NAAC is set to unveil a memorial-style display commemorating the 28 farming accident fatalities recorded since April 2025
  • Visitors to LAMMA can grab half-price tickets for the Agronomy Exchange conference in London this February

LAMMA 2026 kicked off Wednesday with a flurry of new tractors aimed at UK buyers. Highlights included New Holland’s T7.440XD range and JCB’s latest Fastrac 6000 series. Deutz-Fahr and Fendt also showcased new high-horsepower models for farmers and contractors.

Timing is crucial. LAMMA stands as the UK’s largest winter showcase for farm equipment, where dealers and manufacturers aim to convert interest into spring sales and contractors assess their replacement schedules.

Organisers confirm the event takes place Jan. 14-15 at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. Visitors can attend free by registering ahead.

This year, the metal stands out for its mix of themes: faster road speeds, increased driver-assist technology, and a bigger push for HVO—a renewable diesel fuel now gaining official engine approvals.

New Holland’s XD range hit the UK market for the first time at the show, described as a sibling to the Case IH Optum 440 by Farmers Guardian. These tractors feature an 8.7-litre Cursor 9 engine paired with a CVT—a gearbox that shifts seamlessly without fixed gears—and can reach speeds up to 60 km/h.

The XD series features three models rated at 360hp, 390hp, and 435hp, according to the report. It also boasts a 680-litre fuel tank alongside updated software incorporating a new IntelliSense control system.

Deutz-Fahr’s new 8 Series, a clean-sheet design, is produced at the manufacturer’s Lauingen plant in Germany, Farmers Guardian reported. The lineup includes 313hp and 340hp models powered by an FPT N67 engine, which the company says works with HVO.

Deutz-Fahr is offering TAGS — the Tractor Assisted Guidance System — as an optional feature. It includes adaptive cruise control, lane assist, plus obstacle and human detection, all powered by a 360-degree camera setup.

Fendt, a division of AGCO, is phasing out its 800 S4 tractors in favor of the new 800 Vario lineup, which includes three models delivering up to 343hp. The tractors feature an 8.0-litre AGCO Power engine and are certified for 100% HVO fuel use. Updates also cover the transmission and extended service intervals, the report noted.

JCB’s Fastrac 6000 fits between the 4000 and 8000 Series, offering two models rated at 284hp and 335hp and reaching speeds up to 66 km/h, the report says. It retains full suspension and four-wheel steering but now includes standard GPS receivers for crab steering. Plus, it features a CTIS system, allowing drivers to adjust tyre pressure right from the cab.

Not everything at LAMMA is about shiny paint and horsepower. The National Association of Agricultural Contractors (NAAC) is inviting visitors to stop by the Contractors Lounge in Hall 19, where it will display two pallets holding 28 caps—one for each person who has died in farming accidents since April 1, 2025. “This display is a stark reminder of the accidents that have devastated families across our sector,” said NAAC chief executive Jill Hewitt. https://www.farmersguide.co.uk/lamma-2026/…

The NAAC said the display is part of its safety sticker campaign, designed to promote simple, repeatable habits — like keeping PTO guards (protective shields over rotating power shafts) intact and shutting machines down before clearing blockages.

The push isn’t just on hardware—knowledge is getting a hard sell too. AA Farmer reports that LAMMA visitors can snag a 50% discount for next month’s Agronomy Exchange conference. It’s set for Feb. 11 at the Hilton Bankside hotel in London and will cover topics like artificial intelligence, digital tools, and genetics.

New launches arrive amid a tough market. Tractor registrations dropped to 541 units in December, down 30% from the same month last year, according to Farmers Guardian. The numbers highlight how foot traffic doesn’t always translate into sales when confidence wanes.
