Enterprise Products Partners (NYSE:EPD) Yield Premium Shrinks Ahead of Earnings Report

NEW YORK, July 25, 2026, 11:10 a.m. EDT

Enterprise Products Partners gained 1.4% during the past week, lagging the 8.3% increase seen in U.S. crude. U.S. markets did not open on Saturday.

The difference indicates that investors continue to view Enterprise primarily as an income-producing asset. The units failed to behave in the market like an oil-related security.

At the close on Friday, Enterprise’s $2.24 annualized distribution represented a yield of 5.78%, while the Treasury’s benchmark 10-year par yield was 4.69%.

This results in just a 109 basis point premium in yield. As a result, Thursday’s cash-flow update takes on added significance.

Enterprise closed at $38.73 on Friday, slipping 0.2% on the session. The shares are now 3.6% under their 52-week peak.

Peer data highlights the valuation gap. On Friday, the Treasury rate stood at 4.69%, providing the benchmark.

Enterprise’s yield is 85 basis points below Energy Transfer and trails MPLX by 156 basis points.

With a lower yield, investors are paying a higher price for every dollar of distribution. That confidence faces a test on Thursday.

Enterprise is set to announce results prior to the NYSE opening on July 30. The company’s conference call is scheduled for 10 a.m. EDT.

A provisional consensus released on Friday forecasts earnings of 74 cents per unit, surpassing the 68 cents per unit reported in the first quarter.

Operational distributable cash flow totaled $2.1 billion in the first quarter. Distribution coverage stood at 1.8x.

Co-chief executive Jim Teague stated in April, “Our DCF for the quarter supported a 2.8 percent increase.” Enterprise also bought back $116 million in units. Enterprise Products Partners L.P.

Enterprise increased the pace of share repurchases last quarter, with buybacks totaling approximately $159 million, bringing total repurchases in the first half to $275 million.

The board lifted the quarterly payout to 56 cents. The distribution will be made on August 14 to shareholders on record as of July 31.

The units will begin trading ex-distribution on July 31, the day following the earnings release. This schedule may obscure Friday’s price movement.

Brent rose close to 10% for the week. WTI closed at $89.31, declining 3.1% on Friday.

Risks: Reduced volumes, potential setbacks in project timelines, or diminished coverage may impact the divisions. Rising Treasury yields would also cut into the income buffer.

The test on Thursday is simple: cash generation needs to support the premium.
