Qantas and Virgin Australia Ban In‑Flight Power Banks From December 2025: New Rules and Safety Fears Explained
Qantas, Jetstar, QantasLink, and Virgin Australia will ban the use of portable power banks on flights after a series of lithium battery fires. Virgin’s ban starts 1 December 2025; Qantas Group follows on 15 December 2025. Passengers may carry up to two power banks in cabin baggage but cannot use or charge them during flights. Devices must remain accessible and out of checked luggage.
