Melbourne’s $10.2 billion West Gate Tunnel will open to traffic on Sunday, 14 December 2025, after nearly eight years of construction. The four-kilometre toll road links the West Gate Freeway to CityLink via twin tunnels and a new bridge. Cars will pay about $4.09 per trip, with free weekend travel in January 2026. New no-truck zones will begin across the inner west.
