Fiber-Optic Odyssey: How Greece’s Internet Is Evolving from DSL to Starlink

By mid-2023, fiber-to-the-premises reached 38.4% of Greek households, with 0% rural fiber and DSL still dominant at 96%. 5G covered 98.1% of the population, but just 6% of rural homes had mid-band 5G. Starlink became fully available nationwide in March 2023, with monthly prices dropping from €99 to €40 by year’s end. Vodafone invested €40 million in new island fiber links, enabling up to 1 Gbps speeds.
