KLA stock price firms into earnings week after Intel’s warning jolts chip names

KLA Corp shares slipped 1.3% to close at $1,500 on Thursday, then ticked up about 0.1% in after-hours trading as investors digested new analyst target changes ahead of the chip equipment maker’s upcoming earnings. New Street raised its price target to $1,315 from $1,230 but held a neutral rating, according to MT Newswires.

KLA Corporation shares ended Wednesday up 2.28%, closing at $1,520, and showed little movement in after-hours trading. During the day, the stock fluctuated between $1,482.60 and $1,541.43. It remains roughly 4% shy of its 52-week peak of $1,581.34 set on Jan. 16. The S&P 500 climbed 1.16%, while the Dow added 1.21%.

KLA Corporation shares drew attention ahead of Wednesday’s open, following a 5.3% drop to $1,486.18 in the prior session. Deutsche Bank, however, bumped up its price target to $1,560 while maintaining a Hold rating.

KLA Corp shares dropped 5.2% on Tuesday, then held steady in after-hours trading. The sharp decline put the chip-equipment maker behind some of its industry rivals.

KLA Corp shares climbed 1.48% on Friday, finishing at $1,567.82. Trading volume hit roughly 1.53 million shares, per market data.
