SpaceX, Elon Musk's aerospace and AI company, soared 19% on its Nasdaq debut, closing at $161 and marking the largest initial public offering (IPO) ever with a $2.1 trillion valuation. The shares, trading under ticker SPCX, opened at $150, with over 500 million shares exchanging hands, nearing Facebook's record first-day volume. SpaceX raised $75 billion in the IPO. Musk highlighted plans to fund ambitious projects including deploying 100,000 satellites for communications and building AI data centers in space. Despite a history of $41.3 billion losses since 2002, SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet division remains profitable. Tesla shares also rose 1.8%, pushing its market cap to $1.5 trillion. Extended trading saw SpaceX add another 3.5%, boosting market cap to $2.2 trillion.
