Core AI Holdings (NASDAQ:CHAI) surges 41% on HomeGPT announcement, volume spikes

NEW YORK, July 22, 2026, 08:12 EDT — Shares in Core AI Holdings soared 41% following news related to HomeGPT, driving exceptional trading volume.

  • Core AI was last up roughly 40.9%, trading at around $0.55 before the bell.
  • Since Tuesday’s announcement, initial turnover reached about seven times the reported June non-affiliate share count.
  • Revenue in the first quarter dropped 74%, and the gross loss increased significantly.

Core AI Holdings surged roughly 41% to $0.55 ahead of Wednesday’s session. Early estimates indicated trading volume had reached nearly sevenfold the June float figure following Tuesday’s HomeGPT launch.

That does not represent seven distinct ownership changes. Shares may be bought and sold multiple times.

The data indicates exceptionally rapid turnover within a limited equity base. Shares were still trading roughly 39% under the $0.90 offering price from June.

At 8:12 a.m. EDT, regular trading in the U.S. had yet to begin. Nasdaq’s premarket session continues until 9:30 a.m.

At 7:37 a.m., a delayed quote indicated that 48.62 million premarket shares had changed hands, 3.3 times higher than June’s 14.86 million non-affiliate shares.

In Tuesday’s regular trading, 54.89 million shares changed hands. Over the two reported sessions, turnover reached 103.51 million shares, representing a 7.0-fold increase from that figure. The estimate is subject to revision.

Core AI stated that HomeGPT is now focused on planning, renovations, and decisions related to home purchases. The company detailed features such as subscriptions, usage credits, export options, and tools for professional collaboration. The announcement did not provide updated figures for revenue, paying users, bookings, or customers.

Chief Executive Aitan Zacharin described the product as addressing decision confidence, saying it is aimed at “reducing uncertainty around one of the largest financial decisions consumers make.” GlobeNewswire

The comparison reveals the difference between trading demand and reported financials. Market data reflect specific moments, whereas March-quarter numbers are provisional.

The initial turnover figure includes both Tuesday’s regular trading session and premarket volume reported on Wednesday. Unique holders are not included in this calculation.

Revenue declined by 74% to $3.77 million in the March quarter. The gross loss increased to $3.07 million from $228,342. The net loss totaled $3.63 million.

Core AI reported cash holdings of $2.51 million as of the end of March. The company’s liabilities surpassed its assets, resulting in negative equity amounting to $540,231. The filing expressed significant doubt over the company’s continued viability.

The June funding included 1.97 million shares and 3.98 million pre-funded warrants, accounting for almost 30% of the total shares outstanding as of December.

As a result, proof of monetization becomes the next essential hurdle. In the absence of paid-user figures or sales numbers, the rally is mostly a trading phenomenon.

Risks are still elevated. Premarket shifts may change direction given reduced liquidity. Core AI additionally noted it requires additional funding, heightening the potential for further dilution.

Nasdaq standard trading hours start at 9:30 a.m. EDT. The $0.90 financing price continues to be the most immediate reference point.
