NEW YORK, August 27, 2026, 06:06 (EDT)
- U.S. spot Bitcoin products recorded inflows of $232.2 million on August 26, marking their eighth straight session of gains.
- Fidelity’s FBTC saw inflows of $25.6 million, accounting for 11.0% of the industry’s total net inflows that day.
- At 06:05 EDT, Bitcoin was at $79,969, rising 2.1% after touching $80,472.
- FBTC had a reference price of $68.31, representing a 0.09% premium to its most recent published net asset value of $68.249951.
The Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund from Fidelity saw inflows of $25.6 million on August 26, as U.S. spot Bitcoin products marked their eighth consecutive session of positive inflows. Total industry inflows reached $232.2 million, with BlackRock’s IBIT attracting the most at $200.8 million.
FBTC accounted for 11.0% of net inflows on the day, less than its 18.9% share of total industry net flows. This indicates that while new demand reached Fidelity, it was mainly focused on IBIT.
| U.S. spot Bitcoin product | August 26 flow | Cumulative flow |
|---|---|---|
| IBIT | +$200.8 million | +$63.121 billion |
| FBTC | +$25.6 million | +$10.331 billion |
| BITB | +$6.0 million | +$2.100 billion |
| ARKB | $0 | +$1.409 billion |
| GBTC | −$50.4 million | −$27.578 billion |
| BTC Mini Trust | +$46.8 million | +$2.824 billion |
| Total | +$232.2 million | +$54.659 billion |
$314.3 million in industry inflows were recorded on August 25, preceding the most recent session. Last week, five straight days of inflows added almost $2 billion, offsetting some of the withdrawals seen earlier in the year.
Bitcoin stood at $79,969 as of 06:05 EDT on Thursday, marking a 2.1% gain from its previous reference close. The cryptocurrency peaked at $80,472 during the ongoing session before retreating under $80,000.
FBTC was last quoted at $68.31 at 05:44 EDT, marking a 0.62% decline from its prior close. With U.S. exchanges yet to begin trading, bitcoin’s overnight rise pointed to a potential opening gap instead of a standard ETF adjustment during regular session hours.
Fidelity reported a net asset value of $68.249951 with 202.18 million shares in circulation. The reference price of $68.31 represented a 0.09% premium over the NAV. This minor premium shows the quote stayed nearly aligned with the fund’s underlying Bitcoin holdings.
When NAV is multiplied by the number of shares outstanding, the resulting implied net asset base is close to $13.80 billion. The inflow of $25.6 million on Wednesday represents around 0.19% of this figure. While this is significant as an indicator of flow, it remains minor compared to the total existing assets.
FBTC is designed to follow Bitcoin by using Fidelity’s reference rate, with custodianship provided by Fidelity Digital Assets. The fund’s annual fee is 0.25%. With assets steady at $13.80 billion, this would generate about $34.5 million in yearly fees prior to expenses or shifts in assets.
Citi analyst Alex Saunders referred to ETF flows as the “key catalyst to watch” in a report referenced on Monday. Saunders connects fund launches directly with spot-market demand, noting that daily flows have the potential to change direction rapidly.
Risks: Fidelity warns that digital assets experience significant volatility and may lose liquidity. FBTC is not registered pursuant to the Investment Company Act of 1940, and investors cannot exchange shares for Bitcoin. A fall beneath the most recent $77,658 intraday low would undermine Thursday’s price indicator.
The following confirmation arrives at the 09:30 EDT U.S. market open. At that point, investors may examine FBTC’s tradable premium, trading volume and price reaction in relation to Bitcoin’s movement overnight. Upcoming published creation data will indicate if Fidelity’s inflows continued to match the broader industry.
