NEW YORK, July 22, 2026, 04:16 (EDT) – Ondas Inc. NASDAQ:ONDS shares climbed 11.5%, posting a value gain that exceeded the company’s recently announced $6.9 million order.
- Shares ended Tuesday at $7.66, climbing 11.5%, with around 284 million shares traded.
- An early estimate of the share count brings the increase in value to almost $450 million.
- Shares of other drone companies also advanced, undercutting the case for a contract-driven move alone.
Ondas saw its equity value increase by roughly $450 million on Tuesday, according to an initial estimate. Shares advanced 11.5%, following news of a $6.9 million defence contract in Australia announced the previous day.
U.S. stock markets were shut at the dateline. Nasdaq premarket activity had started. The most recent confirmed closing price was $7.66.
The story for investors centers on the gap. Tuesday’s increase in value was approximately 65 times the size of the contract. This indicates DZYNE validation rather than just a straight revenue increase.
The order accounts for 1.3% of Ondas’s $525 million revenue goal for 2026. This projection factors in DZYNE and Omnisys. Ondas increased the target from $390 million following its acquisition of DZYNE.
Ondas spent approximately $200 million in cash to acquire DZYNE and issued almost 85 million shares as part of the deal. The order from Australia was placed 18 days following the closing on July 2.
HIFraser secured an order from the Australian Department of Defence for DTIM counter-drone kits designed for single operators. The contract was awarded to DZYNE, which currently functions as part of Ondas Sentinel.
The kits offer detection, identification, and Dronebuster mitigation capabilities. According to the stated specifications, their detection range is more than 25 kilometres. Global deployment of Dronebuster units now exceeds 3,000.
Chief Executive Eric Brock described the award as “an important validation of our strategy.” According to Ondas, shipments will start using current capacity. The company did not provide a complete timeline or margin details. Access Newswire
The recovery came after a sluggish performance the previous week. Shares dropped 10.1% between July 10 and July 17, then climbed 17.4% over Monday and Tuesday.
The action was part of a broader trend, with four other listed drone and defence companies also gaining on Tuesday.
| Company | Tuesday close | One-day move |
|---|---|---|
| Ondas Inc. NASDAQ:ONDS | $7.66 | up 11.5% |
| Red Cat Holdings, Inc. NASDAQ:RCAT | $8.59 | up 10.6% |
| Redwire Corporation NYSE:RDW | $9.42 | up 9.5% |
| Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. NASDAQ:KTOS | $48.21 | up 4.9% |
| AeroVironment, Inc. NASDAQ:AVAV | $148.84 | up 4.3% |
Tuesday’s closing figures showed a 7.4% rise for the equal-weighted peers.
Ondas led that group by 4.1 percentage points. Using Monday’s market capitalization, the resulting preliminary residual is $162 million. This figure remains 23 times larger than the order. It serves as a benchmark rather than a causal attribution.
Trading was brisk. Turnover totaled roughly 284 million shares, up from 187 million on Monday.
Execution continues to pose the greater challenge. Revenue for the first quarter stood at $50.1 million. Pro forma backlog totaled $457 million, and adjusted EBITDA was a negative $10.9 million.
The order by itself does not settle those evaluations. The subsequent proof will be delivery schedules, profit margins, and recurring demand.
Ondas does not have any investor events planned for the coming week. The company’s updates will therefore center on the progress of current contracts and any additional orders.
Risks: Ondas has not revealed contract margin details or a full schedule for delivery. The DZYNE integration adds execution risk. Around 40 million deal shares are registered for resale with daily limits. An additional 45 million become available on January 4, 2027.
