Ondas Inc. (NASDAQ:ONDS) rises 5% on Australian drone contract, outpacing deal value in market cap gains

NEW YORK, July 21, 2026, 04:13 EDT

  • Ondas finished Monday at $6.87, rising 5.3%. The Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.05%.
  • Initial estimate: Ondas’s equity value rose by approximately $197 million, amounting to 28.5 times the order.
  • The $6.9 million contract represents 1.3% of Ondas’ revenue target for 2026.

Ondas shares climbed by approximately $197 million in market capitalization on Monday after receiving a $6.9 million Australian defence order. The initial calculation shows the increase is 28.5 times the contract amount.

The size difference is significant. The contract amounts to just 1.3% of Ondas’ expected 2026 revenue but represents 3.6% of DZYNE’s forecast sales for 2026. As a result, the stock reaction signaled more than immediate revenue impact.

The Nasdaq ended its regular session at 04:13 EDT. Premarket hours began at 04:00, with the cash session opening at 09:30.

The initial estimate is based on 569.84 million reported shares and Monday’s increase of 34.5 cents. The figure does not include 45 million acquisition shares scheduled for January 4, 2027.

Australia has placed an order for counter-drone kits suited for use by a single operator via distributor HIFraser. These kits are equipped to detect, track, identify, and electronically disrupt drones. According to Ondas, over 3,000 Dronebuster devices have been deployed globally.

Ondas stated that production capacity has already been expanded. Deliveries are set to start in line with the contract. Chief Executive Eric Brock described the deal as “an important validation” of the company’s strategy. Ondas Inc.

The disclosure includes an additional detail. DZYNE revealed a multi-million-dollar agreement with HIFraser in September 2025. That contract pertained to the same DTIM kits provided through Australia’s LAND 156 initiative.

The release on Monday did not clarify if the $6.9 million was an additional amount. Clarification on this would distinguish between new demand and the updated value of an existing contract.

The response was limited to the company.

Trading volume totaled 187.25 million shares, approximately 2.4 times higher than the 65-day average. This marked the fifth consecutive session with volume exceeding 100 million shares.

The stock dropped 10.1% over the past week. Monday’s increase offset 46.9% of that loss in value. Shares remained 5.4% lower compared to their July 10 close.

Ondas finalized the acquisition of DZYNE on July 2, paying $200 million in cash along with nearly 85 million shares. Following the deal, Ondas increased its 2026 revenue forecast to a minimum of $525 million.

Risks persist. The contract size is minor compared to guidance. Ondas has yet to announce revenue timing. An additional 45 million acquisition shares are scheduled for January.

Ondas has not scheduled any investor events for the upcoming week. The focus now shifts to whether Monday’s gains, driven by a contract announcement, can be sustained during regular trading hours.
