NEW YORK, September 1, 2026, 16:56 EDT — MongoDB (MDB.O) dropped 12.5%, erasing $4.4 billion in market value, even as the company raised its guidance.

MongoDB, Inc. NASDAQ:MDB shares dropped 12.49% in after-hours trading on Tuesday, wiping out roughly $4.36 billion in market value by 16:52 EDT, according to Nasdaq exchange data.
The decline came after a quarter that surpassed all major headlines. Revenue exceeded the previous guidance midpoint by $40.3 million. However, the midpoint for the full year increased by just $70 million.
This discrepancy serves as a benchmark for investors. MongoDB traded at $379.97, giving the company an implied equity valuation of approximately $30.6 billion. Based on 80.43 million shares share data, that puts the multiple at about 10.2 times the new revenue midpoint.

Quarterly revenue increased by 30% to $771.8 million. Atlas cloud revenue was up roughly 29%. Revenue from Enterprise Advanced and other segments advanced approximately 36% company earnings release.
Chief Executive CJ Desai pointed to strong performance in core enterprise workloads and initial gains in AI. “This gives us the confidence to raise our full year fiscal 2027 guidance,” he said.

Profitability gains accelerated. GAAP gross margin expanded by three points to 74%. Non-GAAP operating income surged, more than doubling to $185.9 million. Free cash flow increased to $137.6 million, compared with $69.9 million previously.
CFO Mike Berry described this as “very strong and growing operating leverage.” Remaining performance obligations climbed 91% to $1.52 billion. Current obligations were up 73% at $797.3 million.
MongoDB increased its full-year revenue outlook to a range of $2.99 billion–$3.03 billion, up from the earlier estimate of $2.92 billion–$2.96 billion. The company also boosted its non-GAAP operating income guidance by $45.3 million at the midpoint prior SEC-filed outlook.

Third-quarter revenue is forecast at $756 million–$761 million, with the midpoint representing a 1.7% decline from second-quarter sales. This successive drop could account for some of the caution.
The stock finished down 4.23% at $434.21. Following the release, shares dropped an additional $54.24. Overall, from Monday’s close, the total decrease amounted to 16.2%.
Despite the decline, the stock was still 76% higher than its 52-week low. It was also trading roughly 20% below its $473.10 peak.
