SoundHound AI (NASDAQ:SOUN) Faces Heightened Revenue Challenge Followed by Deliverect Agreement

NEW YORK, July 23, 2026, 16:07 EDT

  • U.S. regular trading ended with SoundHound closing at $6.22, a decline of 3.7%.
  • The preliminary Q2 consensus indicates a significant rise in revenue in the second half.
  • LivePerson investors are set to vote on SoundHound’s acquisition offer on August 20.

SoundHound AI, Inc. slipped 3.7% on Thursday, even after announcing a new partnership focused on restaurant technology. Shares ended the U.S. regular trading session at $6.22.

The Deliverect partnership substantially increases potential distribution. However, the announcement did not disclose the contract amount, client commitment, or a timeline for deployment.

Deliverect is utilized at over 80,000 restaurant locations globally. Its system connects with more than 550 point-of-sale providers in upwards of 50 countries, and offers support for over 100 languages.

Mike Lauricella, vice president of channel partnerships at SoundHound, said: “Partnering with Deliverect allows us to deeply embed SoundHound’s AI voice agents into the restaurant tech stack.” Access does not equal booked revenue. PR Newswire

The difference is significant ahead of the August 5 quarterly results. Early consensus estimates predict Q2 revenue at $52.47 million, representing a year-on-year increase of roughly 23%.

At that projection, meeting even the lower range of guidance requires a significant increase in the second half.

Guidance caseFull-year revenueH2 quarterly average neededIncrease compared to Q2 estimate
Low end225.064.222%
Midpoint242.572.939%
High end260.081.756%

Figures are based on disclosed Q1 revenue of $44.195 million and a preliminary consensus estimate of $52.47 million for Q2. SoundHound continues to project full-year revenue between $225 million and $260 million.

The midpoint calls for $72.9 million in each quarter over the second half, representing a 39% increase from the initial Q2 estimate.

SoundHound reported first-quarter revenue of $44.2 million for 2026, marking an increase of 52%. However, the company registered a GAAP net loss of $25.0 million.

The balance sheet remains flexible. As of March 31, cash totaled $216 million with zero debt.

The drop on Thursday was roughly 1.4 percentage points more than the Nasdaq Composite’s 2.3% decline. Last week, the shares dropped 5.6%, with an additional fall of 0.8% by Thursday.

The ongoing LivePerson Inc. acquisition offers another route to expansion. On Thursday, LivePerson called on shareholders to vote in favor of the deal at a meeting set for August 20. Abstentions will be counted as votes against.

SEC pro forma preliminary, unaudited figures indicate Q1 combined revenue reached $101.2 million. Basic weighted shares would have increased by roughly 10%, totaling 464.1 million.

The numbers highlight the merger’s relevance to the scale discussion, but they do not resolve whether SoundHound can stand alone in its conversion assessment.

Investors will see no scheduled financial update this week. The company’s next set catalyst is the August 5 results, with a call at 5 p.m. ET.

The report could detail the number of restaurant launches or clarify the revenue bridge. Deliverect’s announcement included neither metric.

Risks: Deliverect implementation might progress gradually. LivePerson sign-off or completion could be delayed. Expenses linked to integration may impact margins and liquidity.

At present, disclosed reach has increased at a quicker pace than disclosed revenue. August figures will indicate if conversion is beginning to align.
