NEW YORK, July 25, 2026, 12:08 EDT — Trading has ended for the day in U.S. markets.
- Nebius dropped 15.0% on Friday to close at $187.77, while advancing 5.7% over the week.
- Friday saw a drop of $33.20, which equaled 96.8% of the $34.30 gain recorded on Tuesday, according to closing prices.
- Wednesday’s key drivers include Microsoft NASDAQ:MSFT, Meta Platforms NASDAQ:META and the Federal Reserve.
Nebius Group closed at $187.77 on Friday after dropping $33.20, erasing 96.8% of the $34.30 gain made on Tuesday. Almost the entire previous increase was wiped out.
The round trip marks the week’s strongest investor signal. Trading patterns indicate Nebius is still a high-beta play on AI infrastructure spending. Strategic endorsement did not reduce its volatility.
Nevertheless, Nebius advanced 5.7% over the week. The Nasdaq Composite declined 2.1%. The gap in performance was marked by a broader fluctuation.
| Company | Friday close | Friday change | Weekly change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nebius Group NASDAQ:NBIS | $187.77 | -15.0% | +5.7% |
| CoreWeave NASDAQ:CRWV | $71.88 | -11.4% | -1.8% |
| IREN NASDAQ:IREN | $37.07 | -8.7% | +10.3% |
| Nvidia NASDAQ:NVDA | $206.84 | -0.9% | +2.0% |
Weekly shifts are based on closing prices from July 17 and July 24.
The operators experienced sharper losses. CoreWeave and IREN declined significantly more than Nvidia. This disparity brought renewed focus to concerns over funding and delivery risk.
Nvidia reported holding a 9.3% beneficial interest in Nebius on Monday. The position, comprising 22.3 million shares, primarily consists of a pre-funded warrant. This warrant is not exercisable until September 11, and the underlying shares are similarly restricted from being sold before that date.
The Tuesday surge of 18.8% came after the filing. On Friday, gains reversed, indicating that endorsement by itself did not sustain the premium.
A bigger concern is return on capital. According to early consensus estimates sourced by Reuters, five hyperscalers are included in the analysis. Their collective capital expenditure could surpass free cash flow by 2027. For each additional $1 of operating cash generated, capex would increase by $1.57.
David Russell, global market-strategy head at TradeStation, said, “Companies exist to make money, not spend money.” Nebius is addressing that issue by offering asset-backed financing. Reuters
Last week, the company obtained roughly $775 million in debt financing. The rate is set at SOFR plus 2.5%. Nebius stated that customer cash flows, together with the facility, exceed 100% of the GPU capital expenditure involved.
The company also reported contracted revenue exceeding $40 billion. Its customer list features Microsoft and Meta. Chief Operating Officer Ophir Nave described the agreement as “an important step” to achieve “strong and durable margins.” SEC
The company posted rapid growth. AI-cloud revenue increased by 841% in the first quarter to $389.7 million. Depreciation and amortization totaled $212 million. Interest expense amounted to $63.7 million.
The next challenge arrives on Wednesday. Results from Microsoft and Meta are due, coinciding with the conclusion of the Federal Reserve’s two-day meeting. Investors will scrutinize cloud demand, capital expenditure, and plans for third-party capacity.
Execution risk persists. Nebius needs to roll out capacity on time and finance additional hardware while maintaining returns. The company’s new floating-rate debt is tied to SOFR, meaning financing expenses will vary with interest rates.
The week ended in positive territory, but most of Tuesday’s advance was erased. Attention is shifting to next week’s consumer spending data, which has become more influential than the recent stake announcement.
