- HYPE was last at $78.98, after reaching a new all-time high of $82.43 earlier on Saturday.
- Hyperliquid posted $17.05 billion in perpetual volume alongside $9.21 billion open interest.
- Protocol revenue over the past 30 days projects to roughly $468 million annualized, accounting for about a third of a key $1.4 billion bull-case estimate.
- The CFTC is assessing compliant pathways for onchain protocols in the United States, though there is currently no timeline for access.
Hyperliquid’s HYPE token (CRYPTO:HYPE) hit an all-time high on Saturday, boosted by increased exchange activity and anticipation of a potential regulatory shift in the United States. At 04:00 EDT, HYPE was priced at $78.98, reflecting an 8.5% rise over the past 24 hours.
The surge boosted HYPE’s market capitalization by roughly $956 million within a single day. This increase far exceeded the protocol’s daily revenue of $4.94 million, based on the latest market and protocol figures. The difference is significant.
HYPE’s circulating value stands at $17.56 billion, reflecting a rapid rebound in revenue. But with a fully diluted value of $78.91 billion, the market is also pricing in significant growth ahead. Saturday’s all-time high sets the stage for an active week in trading.
| Asset | Price | 24 hours | 7 days | 30 days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HYPE | $78.98 | +8.5% | +40.5% | +33.7% |
| PURR | $0.1102 | +24.0% | +66.1% | +56.7% |
| Bitcoin | $77,296 | +2.1% | +22.6% | +17.6% |
| Ether | $2,433.99 | +2.5% | +29.5% | +26.5% |
| Solana | $94.46 | +4.4% | +25.4% | +21.9% |
PURR (CRYPTO:PURR) climbed 24% over 24 hours. Both HYPE and PURR are tokens, though some trend recaps mistakenly list them as stocks. Their increases came as part of a wider crypto recovery attributed to easing yields, a weaker dollar and short covering.
Data from Hyperliquid indicated that perpetual volume reached $17.05 billion in the past 24 hours. Open interest was recorded at $9.21 billion. Of the total volume, HYPE contracts accounted for $1.93 billion.
| Metric | Latest | Investor reading |
|---|---|---|
| Perpetual volume, 24h | $17.05bn | Liquidity remained strong over the weekend |
| Open interest | $9.21bn | Leveraged exposure is elevated |
| Protocol revenue, 24h | $4.94m | Marked uptick in one-day revenue |
| Protocol revenue, 30d | $38.43m | Annualized run rate at $468m |
| Total value locked | $6.71bn | Significant capital deployed onchain |
The revenue outlook is more subdued. DefiLlama’s 30-day total, when annualized, comes to approximately $468 million. That represents around 33% of the $1.4 billion annualized projection featured in Arthur Hayes’s prominent HYPE bull case.
The single-day figure is significantly higher. When annualized by a mechanical calculation, $4.94 million projects to $1.80 billion. Investors must now determine if Friday’s surge establishes a new baseline or if it reflects a macro-related spike.
Second-quarter data reflects similar strain. Real-world-asset perpetuals generated $213 billion in volume, accounting for 32.2% of platform participation. However, their share of the $169 million in quarterly revenue stood at just 6.6%. Hyperliquid conducted buybacks totalling $141 million.
| Q2 2026 measure | Value | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| RWA perpetual volume | $213bn | Significant influx of new demand |
| RWA share of volume | 32.2% | Accounts for close to a third of all activity |
| RWA share of revenue | 6.6% | Yields less revenue per dollar |
| Protocol revenue | $169m | Bounced back from April trough |
| Token buybacks | $141m | Makes up 83% of disclosed revenue |
This composition indicates that rising volume by itself could exaggerate true earnings potential. HIP-3 markets operated by developers may allocate some of their fees beyond the main protocol. The token maintains an advantage if retained revenue is used for buying in the market.
Hayes claims the buyback mechanism distinguishes Hyperliquid from rival crypto ventures. “No other project in all of crypto hands as much money back to token holders as Hyperliquid,” he said. For his $150 price target, Hayes anticipates both stronger revenue and a higher valuation multiple. Arthur Hayes analysis

Optimism over regulatory developments provided an additional boost. CFTC Chairman Michael Selig stated on Thursday that he had instructed staff to communicate with onchain developers about compliant U.S. products. Selig also outlined a route for certain non-registered crypto exchanges to apply for a specific exchange designation.
There has been no announcement regarding Hyperliquid approval. The service continues to be off-limits to users in the United States, as regulated competitors add more perpetual offerings. This could give Coinbase Global NASDAQ:COIN an edge before decentralized contenders receive access.
Risks: HYPE presents leverage, token-unlock, and regulatory exposures. Crypto trading volumes may drop sharply if liquidity reverses. Additionally, a U.S. regulatory framework could give an advantage to regulated incumbents over decentralized platforms.
In the coming week, continued momentum is key. Market participants will monitor if daily revenue remains higher than its 30-day average, if HYPE can maintain its previous $76.87 high, and if the CFTC will announce a schedule for formal rulemaking.
