Nifty Drops to 10-Month Low Amid Iran War, Fed Meeting, and Rising Oil Prices

The Nifty index closed at a 10-month low, down 5.3% last week, pressured by the Iran-Israel conflict, a weakening rupee, persistent foreign institutional investor (FII) outflows, and fuel supply concerns. Market jitters persist as the Iran war enters its 17th day with no ceasefire in sight. Investors await the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy decision this week amid inflation above the 2% target. Major U.S. indices ended lower Friday, adding to bearish sentiment. Rising crude oil prices, with Brent above $103 per barrel, are fueling concerns about inflation and economic growth. FIIs offloaded equities worth Rs 10,716 crore on Friday, while domestic institutions bought nearly Rs 10,000 crore.
