BENGALURU, September 1, 2026, 16:20 IST — Ather Energy’s share price jumped to a record, up 17% from the block price set by Hero MotoCorp.

  • Ather finished at ₹1,725.60, having touched an all-time high of ₹1,744 earlier.

  • EBITDA became positive for the quarter at ₹9 crore with volumes increasing by 80.5%.

Ather Energy Limited finished Tuesday’s session at ₹1,725.60, following a new high of ₹1,744. The stock ended the day 16.6% higher than the recent block-deal price paid by Hero MotoCorp.

The gap is a key challenge for Ather’s comeback efforts. Strategic support gives endorsement, but the market currently expects quicker results than what Hero’s investment anticipated.

The stock rose 0.46% on trading volume of 9.56 million shares. Across six sessions, it is up 19.9%, according to Yahoo Finance price data. A Bloomberg report estimated that it has surged nearly 130% so far in 2026.

Hero MotoCorp Limited acquired 11.88 million shares of Ather for approximately ₹1,758 crore, indicating a price of ₹1,479.80 per share. Following the deal, Hero’s fully diluted stake increased to about 32.8%, up from 29.88%, according to the transaction report.

The transaction was a secondary sale. Hero compensated a current shareholder, meaning Ather did not gain new operating funds. The premium, as a result, points to market expectations rather than an increase in balance-sheet reserves.

Ather posted an 87.2% increase in total income for the first quarter to ₹1,260 crore. Vehicle sales rose 80.5% to 83,173 units, reflecting the optimistic trend in its operations.

EBITDA was ₹9 crore, compared with a ₹106 crore loss in the same period last year. Net loss decreased to ₹51 crore from ₹178 crore. The data is from Ather’s August 3 exchange filing.

Chief Executive Tarun Mehta stated in the release that “Demand far outstripping supply.” Pre-orders for the quarter increased by 158% to reach 150,000. This may present growth opportunities, but also adds pressure on operations.

Ather unveiled the Konarc scooter on Saturday, with prices beginning at ₹99,999. The model lists range capabilities of up to 200 kilometres, information from the official product page showed. The more accessible price point expands Ather’s potential customer base.

Revenue from software, charging, and other non-vehicle sources accounted for 14% of operations. The attach rate for AtherStack Pro remained steady at 94%, according to the investor presentation. These revenue streams may help offset pressure on hardware margins.

Emkay analyst Chirag Jain stated the stock might “potentially double” within three to four years, Bloomberg reported. This expectation hinges on Ather continuing to expand its market share as it ramps up production. The all-time high price leaves less margin for setbacks.

Risks: Ather continued to post a net loss for the quarter. Commodity prices are still high, while supply has not caught up with pre-order demand. A sharp downturn could quickly eliminate the premium over Hero’s acquisition price.

Investors have two key upcoming milestones. Konarc’s phased deliveries are planned to commence in September. The initial phase for Ather’s Auric, targeting 500,000 units, is set for launch in the third quarter of fiscal 2027.
