Sega Cancels ‘Super Game’ as Live-Service Gamble Runs Out of Road
Sega Sammy has canceled its “Super Game” project and shifted over 100 developers to core franchise teams, citing weak free-to-play performance and losses at Rovio and Stakelogic. The company reported a net loss of ¥5.8 billion for the year ended March 31, despite a 13.7% rise in net sales to ¥487.5 billion. Sega will continue with planned revivals of key titles but most lack release dates.
