The UK’s Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 became law on 19 June, raising PECR fines and updating GDPR rules. The European Commission extended the UK’s data adequacy decision to December. India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act took effect in July. TikTok was fined €530 million in May for EU data transfers to China.
