  • Wheat Futures Slide as Export Shipments Slow and Short Interest Grows
    June 29, 2026, 3:40 PM EDT. Wheat futures fell Monday. Chicago SRW lost 7-8 cents, while KC HRW was off 1-4 cents by midday. U.S. weekly wheat exports dropped 9.56% from last week to 358,253 MT, down 24.83% from a year ago. Top buyers included South Korea, Mexico, and the Philippines. CFTC data showed managed money net shorts rose by 1,675 contracts to 71,206. The market is watching for the U.S. June Acreage report tomorrow, looking for wheat acres at 43.8 million. A South Korean mill was out for a 100,000 MT wheat tender from the U.S. and Australia. Russian wheat output estimates were raised to 91.2 MMT. July and September contracts at CBOT, KC, and MPLS were all trading lower at midday.
