NuScale Power stock rises after Paragon reactor safety contract

NuScale Power shares rose in late New York trading on Monday, outpacing the broader small-cap tape as investors again bid up parts of the advanced nuclear trade even without a fresh company announcement. The stock was last quoted up 3.6% at $13.13, after touching $13.40, on volume of about 37.5 million shares; the SPDR S&P 500 ETF was up 0.3%, while the iShares Russell 2000 ETF was down 0.3%.

NuScale Power shares rose 7.6% to $12.27 in Tuesday afternoon trading, one of the stronger moves among U.S.-listed advanced nuclear names, as investors put fresh money into the small-reactor trade. The stock had traded as high as $12.66, while Oklo gained 7.2% and Nano Nuclear Energy rose 13.1%; the SPDR S&P 500 ETF was up 0.4% and QQQ, an ETF tracking large Nasdaq stocks, gained 1.5%.

NuScale Power shares climbed Monday, recovering some ground after last week’s earnings drop—though Citigroup’s latest target cut underscored Wall Street’s skepticism toward the small nuclear reactor firm. The stock bounced between $11.83 and $13.47 throughout the day.

NuScale Power shares dropped 2.5% to $18.52 on Wednesday, despite earlier surging to $21.08. The nuclear tech developer experienced a steep pullback amid heavy trading volume.

NuScale Power Corp shares slipped in midday trading Monday following the release of a study on using its small modular reactors to provide steam and electricity to chemical plants. “NuScale continues to lead ... to provide process heat and electricity,” said José Reyes, the company’s co-founder and chief technology officer.

NuScale Power Corp shares rose 16.1% to $18.93 in late morning trading on Monday. The stock ranged from $16.83 to $19.23, with about 36.3 million shares traded.
