  • Cocoa Prices Surge on West Africa Drought, Weak Pound, and Supply Concerns

The rally is driven by insufficient rainfall in key West African producers Ivory Coast and Ghana, where drought affects more than half the Ivory Coast and two-thirds of Ghana, according to the African Flood and Drought Monitor. Further supporting prices, the British pound's drop to a 4-month low strengthens cocoa priced in sterling, while a high fund short position suggests potential for a short-covering rally.
