XRP ticked up Wednesday after Ripple announced it had secured preliminary approval for an Electronic Money Institution licence in Luxembourg. The token last traded 1.1% higher at $2.13, having ranged between $2.10 and $2.19 in the previous 24 hours. Bitcoin and ether also saw gains, according to CoinMarketCap. Ripple President Monica Long highlighted that Europe’s regulatory framework provides financial firms “the certainty” needed to shift blockchain projects beyond pilot phases to full commercial rollout. Meanwhile, Europe chief Cassie Craddock described Luxembourg as a “premier hub for financial innovation.”

XRP rose 3.65% in the last 24 hours to hit $2.13 on Wednesday, pushing its market cap to roughly $129.4 billion, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

XRP climbed Tuesday following the introduction of a long-awaited draft bill by U.S. senators aimed at establishing clear rules for the crypto market. The token last traded up 3.4% at $2.12, fluctuating between $2.05 and $2.14 earlier in the session.

Early Tuesday, XRP climbed roughly 1% to $2.06, recovering from a volatile spell and tracking alongside bitcoin and ether’s advances.

XRP hovered around $2.09 on Sunday, edging up roughly 0.1% in the past 24 hours after a subdued weekend in crypto trading. The 24-hour volume clocked in at about $1.25 billion. According to CoinMarketCap, XRP remains the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap.
