Standard Chartered shares rise after UBS, JPMAM hires—buyback update adds support
Standard Chartered bought back 544,241 shares on Jan. 2, planning to cancel them, according to a filing. The bank named Sundeep Gantori and Jonathan Liang to senior roles in its Global Chief Investment Office. Shares rose about 0.7% in early London trading, near a 52-week high. Full-year results are due Feb. 24.
