Michigan Gas Prices Edge Higher; Lansing Shows Split at Pumps

DEARBORN, Mich., June 15, 2026, 09:00 EDT

  • Michigan’s average price for a gallon of regular gas was about $4.18 on Monday. It’s down a lot from last month but still higher than this point a year ago.
  • AAA is showing average gas at $4.14 in Lansing-East Lansing, up from last week. GasBuddy had earlier spotted declines in the area.
  • Marquette reported the lowest average in Michigan. Ann Arbor and Metro Detroit stayed at the high end.

Michigan gas prices ticked higher at the week’s open. AAA put the state average for regular unleaded at around $4.18 a gallon Monday. A week ago it was $4.15. Gas is still cheaper than last month’s $4.88, but well above the $3.09 seen on this day last year. AAA Fuel Prices

AAA Michigan numbers are nearly the same as what WHTC reported Monday. Michigan’s average gas price is about $4.19 a gallon right now. That puts the tab to fill up a 15-gallon tank at $63. According to WHTC, Ann Arbor tops Michigan metros WHTC checked at about $4.27 a gallon. Marquette was the cheapest at around $4.00. 1450 AM 99.7 FM WHTC | Holland

Lansing gas prices are all over the place. GasBuddy said last week that prices dropped 21 cents to about $3.91 a gallon. But by Monday, AAA showed the metro average for Lansing-East Lansing regular gas at $4.144, higher than $3.941 last week. Prices are still far from the $4.915 average seen a month ago. AAA put the national average for regular gas at $4.065 on Monday, down from $4.164 last week and $4.528 a month ago. Prices have slipped as summer travel gets going, giving some relief. Michigan is still above the national number, and it’s more than $1 over where it was a year ago. AAA Fuel Prices
