BlackRock’s IBIT drives Bitcoin ETF recovery as competitors see withdrawals

NEW YORK, July 20, 2026, 04:09 EDT

BlackRock ’s iShares Bitcoin Trust led the ETF rebound, attracting $496.0 million across two weeks. Preliminary figures from Farside indicate that all other funds saw a combined outflow of $223.1 million.

The group as a whole posted net inflows totaling $272.9 million, putting an end to eight consecutive weeks of outflows. Overall breadth stays limited.

The recent inflows recouped under 3.4% of the previous downturn. Over an eight-week period, the funds saw more than $8 billion in outflows. The deficit is substantial.

At 04:09 EDT, regular ETF trading in the U.S. ended, with pre-market trading underway. The regular session is scheduled to open at 09:30 EDT.

The previous week reflected a similar divide. IBIT recorded an inflow of $204.1 million, overcoming a redemption of $185.5 million on Monday. Fidelity’s fund recorded an outflow of $181.1 million.

Friday initially appeared robust. The group recorded a $132.3 million gain, marking a fourth consecutive day in the positive. IBIT contributed $136.5 million, while Fidelity saw a $4.2 million outflow.

Bitcoin was last at $64,207 early Monday, slipping 0.7% for the session. The cryptocurrency traded between $63,742 and $65,012 during the day. The price hovered around the $64,000 mark.

Options traders took a more bullish stance. Deribit noted 20,000 July 31 call spreads positioned between $70,000 and $72,000. “This week we have seen some large blocks in BTC topside call spreads,” said Jean-David Péquignot. He serves as Deribit’s chief commercial officer. CoinDesk

This week sees a quiet period for macro data. U.S. new-home sales will be reported on Friday. Earnings from major tech firms could influence risk sentiment ahead of the Federal Reserve’s July 28-29 meeting.

Ecoinometrics noted that ETF flows have stabilized. BRN is waiting for a sustained multi-week positive trend to signal renewed institutional capital. The division of the fund backs this cautious approach.

Risks: Bitcoin is subject to significant volatility and may face periods of illiquidity. Fidelity cautions that ETF investors risk losing their entire investment.

Wider market participation would be the next bullish indicator. A third consecutive week of inflows driven by multiple funds would strengthen the case. If gains are limited only to IBIT again, the recovery could remain precarious.
