Futures tracking the Nasdaq-100 slipped roughly 1% ahead of the Tuesday session as growth valuations came under pressure from oil and rate concerns. At 05:54 EDT, the contract stood at 29,220.25, down from a previous settlement at 29,513 Nasdaq-100 futures.

Timing played a key role. Futures dropped 0.66% from 04:00 to 05:00 EDT. Over the following 54 minutes, they eased just 0.03%. Selling paused, yet the gap remained unfilled by buyers.

Losses were widespread. S&P 500 futures dropped 0.57% from the previous close. Dow futures slipped 0.63%, and Russell 2000 futures retreated 0.55% U.S. futures overview.

Fresh clashes between the U.S. and Iran stoked concerns over supplies passing through the Strait of Hormuz. WTI rose 2.70% to $88.08. Brent climbed 2.08% to $92.37 Associated Press; WTI quote.

Rates introduced a second discount. The 10-year Treasury yield last finished at 4.758%, an increase of 3.8 basis points Treasury yield. Energy stood out as the main sector hedge. The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund rose 1.02% by 06:00 EDT, while technology slipped 1.32%. Both industrials and real estate declined around 0.5% sector ETF quotes.

GoPro Inc. NASDAQ:GPRO led named movers, surging 86.4% to $1.63 by 06:00 EDT. Mark Fischbach, known as Markiplier, revealed an 8.5% stake Benzinga.

Shares of Robinhood Markets Inc. NASDAQ:HOOD rose 2.6% to $107.54 after Morgan Stanley NYSE:MS upgraded the company to Overweight. Morgan Stanley also lifted its price target to $150 from $124 upgrade details.

The macro split extended to large-cap stocks. Shares of Exxon Mobil Corp. NYSE:XOM gained 0.8%. Chevron Corp. NYSE:CVX was up 0.9%. Nvidia Corp. NASDAQ:NVDA slipped 1.2%, and Apple Inc. NASDAQ:AAPL declined 0.4%.
