Dell delivered the bigger surprise in its quarterly guidance. Revenue climbed 58% to $47.0 billion. The company increased its full-year revenue outlook by $25 billion, reaching $192 billion Dell results.

Orders for AI servers totaled $60.9 billion, with the backlog closing at $95 billion—representing 5.8 times the quarterly revenue from AI servers. Chief Financial Officer David Kennedy stated Dell is “raising our full-year FY27 revenue outlook by $25 billion.”

Trading volume indicated the reset. Dell traded 13.77 million shares during the cash session, 2.5 times its typical average. MongoDB saw 2.00 million shares change hands, 1.4 times its average, according to Google Finance data.

MongoDB posted robust operational results. Revenue increased by 30% to reach $771.8 million. Free cash flow jumped to $137.6 million, almost twice the previous amount MongoDB results.

However, the company’s guidance update was more modest. The midpoint for annual revenue climbed 2.4% to $3.01 billion. By comparison, Dell raised its midpoint by 15.0%. This difference set the stage for the after-hours split.

The market reacted to the scale of forecasts, rather than just earnings surprises. Dell’s updated AI outlook sent shares up 23.3%. MongoDB increased both revenue and margins, but investors expected further gains following its latest surge.

The upcoming U.S. jobs report on Friday is expected to be the next major market driver. A robust result may strengthen expectations of interest rate hikes, maintaining pressure on technology stocks with longer durations.

Risks: Thin liquidity after hours can cause price reversals. The timing of Dell’s backlog and supply expenses are still unclear. MongoDB’s consumption revenue may fluctuate across quarters.
