Washington’s Greenland Rare Earth Gambit: Critical Metals Soars as U.S. Eyes Strategic Stake
Critical Metals Corp shares jumped over 60% on Oct. 6 after reports the U.S. is in talks to buy an equity stake tied to Greenland’s Tanbreez rare earth project. A White House official said no deal is imminent and “nothing is close” with the company. The proposed $50 million grant would give the U.S. about 8% ownership if converted. The Tanbreez deposit is among the world’s largest rare earth resources.
