Natural gas just hit a 3-year high — what’s driving prices and UNG, EQT this week
U.S. front-month Henry Hub natural gas futures surged nearly 30% to $6.80 per mmBtu Monday, the highest close since December 2022, after winter storms slashed output and strained power grids. Lower 48 production fell to a two-year low, while the United States Natural Gas Fund rose 6%. LNG exporters slipped. Inventories remain above the five-year average.
