Ethereum Price Surge Conceals Decline in Tokenised Real-World Asset Share

Ethereum Price Surge Conceals Decline in Tokenised Real-World Asset Share

KARACHI, July 21, 2026, 17:07 PKT

  • Ether was last trading close to $1,930, up roughly 8.3% in the past week.
  • U.S. spot Ether ETFs saw initial inflows totaling $38.0 million on Monday, according to Farside Investors.
  • Ethereum saw its distributed RWA value drop by 8.2% over 30 days, while Solana and Stellar recorded increases.

Ether rose 11.8% in a month, but the value of tokenised assets tracked on Ethereum dropped by 8.2%, resulting in a divergence of almost 20 points. The cryptocurrency was trading around $1,930 on Tuesday.

Cryptocurrency markets continued to operate. U.S. core stocks were yet to begin regular trading and were in pre-market hours.

The gap is significant as tokenisation has become central to Ethereum’s latest investment narrative. The clearest connection to ETH occurs when these assets result in increased network activity.

Ethereum remains the platform for the biggest monitored pool of distributed real-world assets. Its RWA transfer volume, however, dropped by 60.9% in 30 days.

NetworkDistributed RWA value30-day change30-day transfer volumeVolume change
Ethereum$15.36 billion-8.18%$8.69 billion-60.88%
Solana$3.21 billion+6.87%$6.80 billion-0.84%
Stellar$3.00 billion+5.73%$0.87 billion-23.52%

Data from RWA.xyz were up to date as of July 21, 2026.

Initial estimates show Ethereum accounting for 48.7% of monitored distributed value, down from roughly 52.3% the previous month.

The drop does not necessarily indicate assets transferring to competing networks. Balances can also be affected by redemptions, valuation fluctuations, or expanded data coverage.

Nonetheless, Solana and Stellar both recorded increases in assets over the period. Meanwhile, Ethereum saw its lead slightly reduced.

Fortune reported that Ether saw an 11.8% monthly increase, outpacing Bitcoin, which rose 3.3%.

Initial data from Farside indicated that U.S. ETFs saw inflows totaling $38.0 million on Monday. On Friday, the funds recorded inflows of $36.7 million.

This indicates that regulated investment demand contributed to the recovery. It does not provide evidence of increased Ethereum settlement activity.

DeFi Dad, a DeFi analyst, outlined a clear optimistic outlook. “We’re going to see real-world assets finally eclipse all of this,” he said. He pointed to Ethereum’s extensive security history as a benefit for institutions. Benzinga

The investor focus is more specific. Tokenised assets need to generate transactions, fees, and ongoing ETH usage. Ethereum mandates that gas fees be paid in ETH. The base fee is then destroyed.

Transfer activity serves as a valuable, though imperfect, indicator for token economics. Ethereum has seen its volume drop by 60.9%, a trend that now requires careful monitoring.

Risks stay elevated. Analyst Benjamin Cowen said: “If Bitcoin goes lower, it’s going to drag ETH back down.” RWA datasets could be updated, and asset balances might not show actual liquid demand. Benzinga

Currently, Ether’s surge is moving ahead of its RWA performance metrics. Confirmation would need more consistent market share, increased transfer volume, and continued ETF inflows.
